UK news outlets Give Police Footage of Riots

The BBC, Sky and ITN have given “untransmitted footage” of the August 2011 riots in London to the police, Journalism.co.uk reported.

The footage of riots was called for under a court order. According to Journalism.co.uk, the police stated: “The police are identifying people through pictures, CCTV and through the media to ensure that people are brought to justice.

All three news outlets stated that they provided the information “only” because of the court order, according to the BBC.
