University: Former German Defense Minister Plagiarized

The University of Beyrouth determined that former German defense minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg “intentionally” plagiarized parts of his doctoral thesis, Bloomberg reported.

His thesis was 475 pages in length and the university spent three months looking into the allegations of plagiarism.  According to the university’s report, Guttenberg “seriously violated academic practice and sought to deceive with intent.”

The BBC noted that Guttenberg “denied cheating” when he resigned in March amidst the plagiarism accusations.
