As iMediaEthics previously wrote, soccer player Rio Ferdinand filed lawsuit against the Sunday Mirror claiming that its April 2010 “kiss-and-tell”article invaded his privacy. However, a UK court dismissed Ferdinand’s lawsuit, Journalism.co.uk reported.
According to Journalism.co.uk, the judge, Justice Nicol, claimed that freedom of expression outweighs privacy and that the newspaper’s story was in the public interest given Ferdinand’s role on the soccer team.
